On Wednesday several people from Yolo County were over in Sacramento for a presentation to a board that determines how AB 900 money is going to get divided up across California.
Yolo County made a presentation to the Board. Since Sheriff Ed Prieto serves on the board (he had to leave during the Yolo presentation) the county was represented by Undersheriff Tom Lopez.
We were set to start at 2pm so I got there at like 1:50pm. My role was just to show that the Supervisors support the application for the $30 million. When I walked in the door Lopez was actually wrapping up. Oh well.
From all indications Lopez did a great job. He set out our key points -- we are ready to go, we have a great project manager, they needs success and we are ready to to give it to them, we have the demonstrated need, and we have proven to be a team player on this stuff.
Here is the key to this -- Yolo County had Sheriff Prieto on the committee yet we still had Tom Lopez there to make a great presentation. We were all well served on Wednesday. |
