Frank Sieferman Jr. - Insulting to Woodland > Rexroad.com

I am not thrilled that Frank Sieferman, Jr. is running for City Council. I will not vote for him because I do not think he adds anything to the discussion of policy issues impacting Woodland.

Since I beat him 18 months ago he has largely been invisible in the community. Fair enough. I am sure the loss hurt. I feel for him on that.

When I look at people running for office one of the things I look at seriously is what they would do if they did not hold public office. For example, Martie Dote lost a seat on the Woodland City Council. She stepped right back in and took a seat on the Planning Commission. If Art Pimentel was not on the City Council he would be doing something to help Woodland. Jeff Monroe, even though I don't support him I do think he would be involved in the community in some way if not on the Council.

Frank Sieferman is not only not active -- he is not even showing up for debates. That is a complete insult to the voters of Woodland to not even show up at the debates and still have a chance to get elected to the Woodland City Council.

Last night he skipped the debate -- and went to another meeting. For the first time in ages he showed up at a meeting. He showed up at the School Board meeting and babbled some nonsense instead of engaging in the City Council debate at the Community Center.

He should not be rewarded for this behavior. The candidate forums may not influence the outcome of an election. They may not be dynamic. They may even be painful. All that may be true but they are required if you are seeking the vote of our community.

That is just wrong.

He should not be rewarded with our votes.
